Symptoms of dyslexia in primary school children

These can vary from child to child, however some of the main symptoms to look out for are:

• Slow or stilted reading

• Difficulties with reading comprehension

• Inaccurate spelling

• Can learn words for spelling tests, but forgets them shortly afterwards

• Difficulties with learning phonics

• Pronouncing words incorrectly

• Struggling with written expression
